Pre-Wedding Shoot
A pre-wedding shoot, also known as an engagement shoot, is a fantastic opportunity to get some beautiful and romantic pictures of you and your partner well before your wedding day.
It is a photo session typically scheduled for about 3 to 6 months prior to your wedding day and is usually done at a location that holds a special meaning for you as a couple.
Your Pre-Wedding Shoot Serves Multiple Purposes.
Firstly, it provides an excellent opportunity for you to get comfortable in front of the camera and to build a rapport with your wedding photographer.
This way, you won’t feel as nervous or camera-shy on your wedding day, and you’ll have a better idea of how your photographer works.
Secondly, the pre-wedding shoot gives you a chance to test out different poses, angles, and lighting, and to determine what works best for you and your partner.
This way, you’ll be able to get the best possible shots on your wedding day.
Finally, the pre-wedding shoot results in a lovely collection of romantic and intimate photographs that you can treasure for a lifetime.
These photos can be used for your wedding invitations, save-the-date cards, or even displayed in your home as art.
Overall, a pre-wedding shoot is an excellent way to kick-start your wedding preparations and make some beautiful memories with your partner.
If you have not set the date but would like to Book an Engagement Shoot my fee would be £200. This will be refunded if you go ahead and book me as your wedding Photographer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Should We Wear
Although it is important to have something nice to wear on your pre-wedding shoot, it’s even more important to wear something you feel comfortable in.
Try to avoid formal dress, as the pre-shoot is all about getting to know each other and having some fun in front of the camera.
Avoid clashing colours and patterns. Discuss with your partner and try on outfits that complement what your partner is wearing.
A nice shirt, jeans for the guys, and a dress for the ladies will make you both feel comfortable and stylish.
Hair and Makeup
Just make a bit of an effort but there is no need to go over the top.
"What is the best time of day for a pre-wedding shoot?"
The best time to take romantic pre-wedding photos is during the 60 minutes before sunset, which is also known as the “golden hour” in photography.
During this time, the sun is lower in the sky and the light is less intense, resulting in images that have a warmer tone due to the lower colour temperature.
Time of Year
This may sound obvious but dressing according to the weather does kind of make sense!
Summer
If you have your pre-wedding photoshoot planned for the summer, it is recommended that you wear a flowy summer dress. For the guys, cool sunglasses and a nice shirt will do the trick.
Autumn
If your photo shoot is planned for autumn, a cosy jacket and a colourful scarf can be a great option to keep you warm and fashionable.
Winter
For the winter, it is best to opt for colourful hats, and funky gloves (if that’s your style!), and wrap up warmly in a cosy coat to protect you from the cold.

Can I Bring My Dog
A well-behaved Dog can help you to relax and feel comfortable in a photo shoot.
However, a naughty Dog may not be a good idea as it can quickly spoil the experience for everyone. “be warned”
Bring a Dog sitter if you are concerned so we can concentrate on taking some romantic photos.
