Ettington Park Hotel Wedding Photography
Ettington Park Hotel is one of those Wedding venues that as soon as you see it, you will fall in love with it. As you drive along the beautiful entrance you are greeted by the view that most people dream of for their wedding day. Situated just outside Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon, this stunning wedding venue attracts couples from all over the world with its beautiful grounds and the history within its walls.
Neo-Gothic Mansion
Ettington Park is a picturesque Neo-Gothic mansion with the River Stour weaving its way through the estate. Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted by the impressive turrets, that’s just a glimpse of the grandeur to come. Step inside and you will be blown away by the luxurious décor and floor-to-ceiling windows which present fantastic outdoor views. Nestled amongst the neatly kept gardens you will find an old Norman Church. This was allowed to fall into ruin and parts were demolished to enhance its romantic picturesque qualities. In the well-kept grounds, you will find an elaborately decorated Orangery along with several 17th-century sculpted monuments.

Ettington Park is just the perfect venue for your wedding day, especially from a photographer’s point of view.
The Ceremony
Lydia & Damian’s ceremony was held in the Library Room. This beautiful room has a huge window which lets tonnes of amazing light in. It can sit up to 40 guests and is usually used for smaller weddings. There is not much room for me to walk around so I stood at the front to get all the best photos.
Time for a Celebration!
From this point, we all headed outside to enjoy some drinks and canapés and celebrate with family and friends. All the usual hugs and kisses followed by confetti flying everywhere. A selection of modern background music was played by a very talented Harpist.
Formal Family Photos
Being a small party of around 30 guests we managed to rattle off the formal family photos in no time. I always draw up a list of names to make this run smoothly and try and make it fun for everyone.
Bridal Portraits in the Gardens.
As I have said previously, the gardens at Ettington Park are just stunning and make for a fantastic photographic backdrop. This particular wedding was in early May with plenty of lush greenery. The bride and Groom also wanted to make the best use of the Old Church Ruins for their bridal portraits.
Outdoor Wedding Breakfast
As planned food was to be served outside and tables were laid in the rear garden by the Orangery. Lydia and Damian opted for a BBQ-style wedding breakfast with a Caribbean twist which was enjoyed by all.
Photography Coverage
I was only required for a few hours to cover the wedding ceremony up to the wedding breakfast. This was a cracking little family wedding and when it was time to go knew that I had captured some cracking photos of Lydia and Damian’s bid day.
Many thanks to Lydia and Damian for your hospitality and for letting me be part of your celebrations.
