Katy and Ben, who recently got married at the Welcombe Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, had a little bit of fun with light painting.
The new bride and groom wanted a creative photo showing their new married name. The letters were created by using sparklers during a long exposure.
How Do You Do That
There is no wizardry or photoshopping it is all done in camera. It’s a photo technique called light painting.
My camera was placed on a tripod as we needed to take a long exposure. The Bride and Groom had to stand still for around 20 seconds. Then one of the bridesmaids wrote the letters with a sparkler.
Bear in mind everyone had had a few drinks at this point so it took several attempts to get it right. However, it turned out to be a bit of a giggle which was enjoyed by everyone involved.
I love creating unique photos in low light and I am always happy to try out something new.
